Biography

Laurent Chabot is a French self-taught painter born in 1951. He starts to use yellow early in his career, systematically in his paintings and photographs.

"This color persists and is with me day and night" says the artist. His career path is unconventional. Growing up on a farm, he used to work and play in the fields - "the wheat fields and the field of possibility".

A little later, he moves to the city, where he creates his artworks and little by litthe goes back toward this light from his past. Laurent Chabot drawns us in color, deleting any spatial reference and visual obstacle to attract us towards far-away horizons, hard to reach.
