Thierry Deroche's double life began in a unique place, in the Parisian suburbs. Dana, a space where the human is almost absent and the omnipresent, autonomous machine. A few years ago, the management controller of the time, received his first invitation to creation in this auto parts factory. He began to collect a few parts, often industrial waste, which today turn into robotic rebuses… He has now exchanged his briefcase for a toolbox. In his hands, the metal parts are assembled, bolted, and screwed to find a second life, reincarnated in a playful and unique sculpture that resembles Robots. In his imagination, the toaster becomes a head, the umbrella stand becomes a body, the boiler nozzles become arms and legs… Roboted, Robbyted & Co are beautiful, useless, no shrill noises, no blinding lights, just a glimmer of tenderness, nostalgia and a touch of irony.
