Biography

Born in 1973 in Vendée, Vincent Avril is a French sculptor.

Vincent Avril studies contrasts. He works on the contrast between the heavy silence of man and the lightness of the paper that composes his pieces. He represents human beings with sculptures that have no expression or movement, like statues that are cold and disconnected from the real world.

Vincent Avril transcribes the discomfort and the dark emotions of our society. He uses the color red as a symbol of emotion. It appears like a hope in this black and white world. The black bars in his pieces, symbolize the physical and mental imprisonment that man and society impose on us.
