Biography
Since his childhood in Normandy, France, Maxence de Bagneux spent most of his time learning, travelling, drawing and painting. After studying Fine Art and gratuating in Interior Design and Product Design in Paris - Ecole Camondo - in 2001, he decided to take his chances and discover Asia. Over the course of 6 years he travelled around the continent discovering and learning different facets of asian culture including religion and handycrafts.
In 2009, after different fields experiences he finally chose to return to his true passion: drawing and creating, and has since dedicated his life to his art. He left Asia for Berlin. There he was inspired with the creative energy surrounding him, and started developing his own style. His technique today is based on colors.
His works are filled with a positive melancoly associated with a naive touch that seems to define his style. Inspired by contemporary figurative painters such as Marlen Dumas, Peter Doig or Maria Lassnig but and also by the Art Brut Movement from which he draws much of his inspiration.
