Presentation

The work of sculptor Nathalie Pitel lies between sculpture and installation. It deforms, spoils, scratches the material to give birth to something living, organic, even sacred.

Constantly in research work, she creates an accident in matter, likes to relate this research to archeology. Scratch around the bone, dig the metal to find a treasure, an extinct species, to create a modern archeology populated by new fossils.

She is looking for vestiges of a world where time is flight and progress is destructive. Between reality and science fiction, she buries and unearths the remains of an unconscious and already doomed civilization.

We could then quote Paul Virilio:

“No acquisition without loss. If inventing the substance is indirectly inventing the accident, the more powerful and efficient the invention, the more dramatic the accident. ”

A universe as powerful as it is fascinating, to discover in volume and vibration ...
