Richard Nieto is a French artist, born in 1952 in Toulouse where he lives and works.
After having worked as a photo-journalist for the newspaper "Liberation", and the Fotolib agency, he taught photography and was the artistic director for several public and private events until 1982. He continued his aesthetic research of traditional photography and experiments to adapt some of the old processes like bromoil, oleo-type and gum bichromate to contemporary art.
He is the founder of several study groups on aesthetics of photography and creator of several academical and institutional demonstrations. He collaborated for several years with Collège International de Philosophie.
His work is displayed in more than 45 key exhibitions in Europe. He has published several catalogs and participated in several art reviews, radio and TV shows.
