Biography

Chrystèle Saint-Amaux is a French artist born in 1972 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. She currently works in Saint-Avertin in the area of Tours.

Self-taught, this multi talented artist has tried several fields and diverse techniques: drawing, watercolors, collages, sculpture, assemblies.... Amaux made a first collection of abstract assemblies in 2007, before focusing in figurative pieces with her collection "Zeboulons", characters whose lines and colors are reminiscent of her childhood world.

Nowadays, Amaux makes sketches, charcoals and artworks mixing different techniques, while always using her crazy creativity, which she rediscovered while doing workshops with very young children.

Even if Amaux is not influenced by any particular artist, her rich pictorial vocabulary comes from fairy tales, pop culture, classical painting that she uses to create her own captivating universe of poetry, which is particularly desired by lovers of singular art.
