Biography
Frédéric Couraillon is a French artist born in 1972 who lives in Spain.
Working on drawings and engravings, he creates pieces where the images are strong and loaded with gloom. Color is also present in his work and the pictorial material is grainy, all in relief, the sheet has an organic grain as well. The line always makes sense, between controlled and scribble.
He plays with paper, crumples, stains, stings it with the help of soil or coal, sometimes even adding his fingerprints.
His work has been exhibited since 2000 in more than fifty solo exhibitions in numerous galleries, in France, Spain and Belgium.
