Born in 1960, Sylvie le Treut lives and works in the region of Champagne Ardennes in Sedan. She graduated from the Beaux Arts in 1980 and then became a visual arts teacher for two years. She devoted herself to drawing and sculpture.
Sylvie Le Treut works with a pencil and Indian ink and depicts a dreamlike and fantastic universe. In her work, everything is combined and assembled, femininity is omnipresent. Her universe is apocalyptic, inhabited by strange creatures. A dreamy world, which is a lot like the one of Bosch and Odilon Redon. We can find this universe in her sculptures, stumps of vegetable and metal.
She was awarded a silver medal for her work by the international exhibition of Paris in 1996 and a gold medal, for the three following years. The artist regularly exhibits in galleries, and her work is also part of several group collections in France and abroad.
