How do we remember the world?....
Henri Bergson used to say something like this: "if reality came to strike directly at our senses and our consciousness. And if we managed to enter in immediate communication with things and with ourselves, I believe that art would be useless or rather that we would all be artists because our soul would then vibrate in unison with nature.... Our eyes would create magnificent paintings..... We would hear singing in the depths of our souls the melody of our inner life... Unfortunately, if all this is in us and all around us, nothing is rarely perceived by us... Between us and our consciousness is interposed a thick veil for the common man, more transparent for poets and artists.... »
