Biography

Bernard Kowalczuk is a French artist, born in 1968. He lives and works in Lille.

Completely self-taught, he initially painted his surroundings, namely North of France. Then, he traveled through Europe, and discovered facades of cities and their old districts, marked by history. From Paris to Venice, not to mention Rome, he wandered in the streets and absorbed their memories.

His journey didn't just stop there, the artist went across the Atlantic to confront the Big Apple. In 2005, when arrived in New York, it was a revelation. He literally fell for the city and adopted it. Recently, Bernard Kowalczuk has come back to his first love and considers Paris to be his muse. The terraces and roof tops of the capital are captured in his paintings. He highlights the charm of the bars and slates of Parisian roof tops, replacing glazed facades of buildings.

Bernard Kowalczusk offers to take us on a weightless walk. Today, his work is exhibited all around the world, in major places like Madrid, Singapore or Miami.
