Biography
Valérie Herbin is a Moroccan artist, she was born in 1964 in Paris and has been living in Casablanca for 17 years now.
She does photography, and has a unique look on the natural world. The planet Earth and light are the main focus of her artistic research and remain her favorite themes. The intense lights and colors of the Casablanca region, are an infinite source of inspiration to her.
However, even if light is the common denominator of her painting and photos, the contrast is amazing. She uses spray paint on wood and canvas.
She lived for four years in Central and Equatorial Africa, where she gained more knowledge on her work, pertaining to light or rather the African lights. The research is often personal, as she wants to spring up the lower pigment, through scratching.
