Why did I want to pay tribute to authors, composers, performers and singers in French?
When I was around 50, I decided to immigrate on my own without knowing anyone in Canada. A short time in Quebec City then direct to Vancouver. Ben there! on the radio I only heard English / American or Quebec music .. I didn't speak English. So I listened to the tapes of my favorite artists and quickly ideas came to me to set up drawings to illustrate, to create a fairly naïve composition.
For this series it has been nothing but happiness finding lots of ideas. Eighteen months of research, of sketches, while working during the day.
