Presentation

Graduate of the School of Fine Arts in Paris, painting section, Rodolphe Coré now resides in  Saint-Clément-des-Baleines (Ile de Ré) where he paints.

He is also a stone sculptor. He has worked on the restoration of heritage, particularly on the facades of the Louvre Museum and has made two fountains for the town of Loix.

He is also a traveler: He lived a few years in Ireland where he made many artistic residences (Connemara, Cork, Dublin). His travel diaries tell of his travels in Turkey, Thailand or Egypt.

He willingly uses photography to capture his vision of the world, as shown by his series of pictures juxtaposed by five (Polaroid) that sequence a movement, a line, a texture. For him, the medium is of little importance as long as he can transcribe his impressions. In his landscapes, blue is omnipresent. He likes to add colors that come from the belly and that can be dirty, from grays to a thousand shades. These are "colors to which one cannot give a name", tonalities which confront each other to better exist.

Often comes back a panel on which we read nothing, just to open the questioning. But the panel is only a support, a vector of atmosphere to stage the slide, the passage of time.

His small formats on this theme are very varied and intuitive. Spontaneous, they reflect the mood of the moment.

In his recent works, Rodolphe Coré simplifies his painting to the extreme: vertical bands of juxtaposed colors punctuate his compositions, the painting exists only for itself and does not refer to a given object, a dialogue of colors rather than words.

Rodolphe Coré exhibits regularly in France and Ireland and is followed by many collectors.
