Adeel

Born in 1977 in Paris, Adeline Cottreel moved to Bordeaux with her parents at the age of 12 to settle there permanently. She studied at the Faculty of Letters Michel de Montaigne and obtained a master's degree in linguistics. At the same time, she takes evening classes in Art History. Very attracted by drawing since childhood, she began to paint by taking courses in the studio run by her aunt at the Aquitaine Museum. She will follow these courses assiduously during her high school and college years. It was in the rooms of the Aquitaine Museum, in the center of Bordeaux, that she was introduced to different techniques under the benevolence of her aunt, Christine Bourel, herself a painter: painting with a knife, working with pigments. and different binders such as wax, linseed oil, acrylic binder; introduction to linocut, monotype, collages ... many techniques approached and nourished by visiting the permanent collections of the Museum. In 1999, she left for Charente, Angoulême to prepare for the competition for Teacher of Schools, which she obtained in 2000. At the IUFM, during the preparation of her competition, she met Jean-Paul Ingrand, professor of Visual Arts with whom she follows evening workshops on color and sculpture. Always very curious to expand her palette of graphic experiences, she will take courses in Calligraphy at the Ecole des Accacias in Angoulême with Philippe Amrouche. Painting and drawing have always been part of her life: she sets up a painting workshop at home and produces more or less regularly depending on the period. For 3 years, production has intensified with this constant need to experiment, to grope, to measure oneself against the test of color, textures and creation. His paintings are of rather abstract inspiration with from time to time the incursion of the figurative in certain creations.
