Of French origin, Laurence JENKELL born in 1965 is an artist in her own right. At the same time painter, plastic artist and sculptor, the Artist entered for nearly ten years with force and brilliance in the World of Contemporary Art. It is in her workshops that she reinvents the processes of transformation of materials, turns towards crystallization and creates by drawing inspiration from current influences and trends in fashion, design and our consumer society. One of his sources of inspiration: candy. More than a medium, the candy interpreted by Laurence JENKELL becomes a “language" A specialist discourse would say that his candy sculpture is a radical gesture resulting from the semantic content of Pop Art and New Realism. A secular discourse would speak of an artistic gluttony which delights our senses and which by its evoked sweetness makes it possible to magnify all the subjects carried by these candies.
