His painting aesthetically resembles the works of Provençal artists. However, Jean-Claude Quilici doesn't only represent the Provence, but all the landscapes he admires and those which inspire him. These mainly pertain to his trips in USA, Spain, Morocco...
Jean-Claude Quilici exhibited for the first time in 1958. He earned international fame. The artist received several awards like « la mention spéciale » from the Grand Prix Jury at the Avignon Festival. He was acknowledged worldwide: he exhibited in USA, Japan. During his career, he also took care of public orders for the Université de Corte and Marseilles subway. In 1997, the artist created opera decors "Mireille" by Gounod for a co-production of the Opera in Marseilles and Bordeaux.
