Antoine de Tyssandier is a contemporary French painter , born in 1991 , living and working in Paris . His work falls within the field of contemporary abstract and figurative painting , with an aesthetic situated between digital distortion, abstraction, and a dreamlike universe . Since 2015, he has been developing an artistic practice nourished by both painting and electronic music , two disciplines that he brings into dialogue in his visual and conceptual research.
Initially trained at the École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne , where he studied pattern making and design, he then turned to a self-taught approach in contemporary art . His journey notably included an initial experience in fashion before he devoted himself fully to painting.
Antoine de Tyssandier's work explores a pictorial "interzone," an intermediate space between figuration and abstraction , where organic forms, architectural structures, and digital evocations intertwine. His works draw on the concept of pareidolia , a perceptual phenomenon that involves identifying familiar forms within indeterminate structures. This approach gives rise to dense compositions, often perceived as mental landscapes or dystopian environments.
The artist participates in numerous group exhibitions in Paris , notably with Jeune Création , at the Salon d'Automne (2020) , at Thaddaeus Ropac / Komunuma , at the Hôtel de Coulanges , and at L'Éclaireur . He has also presented his work at contemporary art fairs with the Cécile Dufay gallery, including the Affordable Art Fair Brussels .
His artistic universe is now associated with the movements of contemporary abstract painting , digital expressionism and conceptual art , making him an emerging figure on the Parisian art scene.
