Victor Soren

Victor Soren is a French artist. He was born on February 15, 1967 in Paris. He grew up in Pouliguen, a small fishing harbor in Brittany. He was a mediocre student until high school, but was accepted at the School of Fine Arts in Nantes.

Soren is one with his art, and says he is "summoned" by his drawings. His imaginary world is made of subtle contrasts, sublimated by light and shade and presenting and anthology of familiar animals, lost in obscure children's rooms or strange distorted deities that seem to come straight of Jules Verne's novels, living in desolate ruins.

He works the light, that manages with great difficulties to win the battle with the obscurity in Soren's works, seems to be the metaphor of a reality that destroys dreams. Soren's art is a black thorn in the white of our eye.
