Biography
Lora B. was born in 1989 in Bordeaux. Self-taught artist, it is very young that she becomes aware of art and the notion of aestheticism. Her inspiration comes from her numerous travels which were for her the occasion to go to the meeting of new cultures, to sharpen her glance on the world and to seize the colors of the nature. From street art in New York, Chicago, to the colorful cars of Cuba, the exotic fruit markets of Vietnam, the thousands of exhibitions in Barcelona, the plurality of faces that cross her path, all this has contributed to build the identity of Lora B and gradually to express all her experience on canvas.
Attached to the intensity of the glances, the capture of the emotions and the expressions even the most tiny, she thus chose to center her art on the faces which take shape, come alive under her generous features and the sharp colors. At first unstructured, the physiognomy is gradually shaped, giving birth to portraits forming a harmonious whole, incredibly alive. A power of the gesture which is not to recall currents like cubism, pop art or Neo-expressionism. And if his works are always figurative and are part of the tradition of contemporary portraiture, they all have this unique charm with both pop and acidulous resonances.
