Théophilos Gérédakis

Born in 1952 in Vori, Crete, Théophilos Geredakis is a Greek painter and engraver whose artistic path has been built between Greece and France. Self-taught in his beginnings, he joined the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts of Paris as a free auditor from 1982 to 1986, where he notably studied the painting of Louis Nallard and Pierre Alechinsky.

Over the years, he developed a personal body of work where painting occupies a central place, while also practicing linoleum engraving and lithography. His work explores the relationships between color, material, and gesture, in a constant search for balance between abstraction and poetic expression.

His work has been presented in numerous exhibitions in Greece and France, notably at the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles, the Salon de Mai, and SAGA Paris. These experiences have contributed to affirming a singular artistic approach, nourished by his Mediterranean roots and his immersion in the Parisian art scene.

The works of Théophilos Geredakis are today in public and private collections, in Greece and abroad. Through his paintings and prints, he pursues a sensitive exploration of light, memory, and the inner landscape, offering a work where the spontaneity of the gesture dialogues with the depth of the material.
