Radha Ramyar

Radha Ramyar was born in 1983 in Iran, where she spent the first 25 years of her life. Since 2008, she lives and works in France. She graduated in Fine Arts in Tehran and Paris. In 2011, she was awarded the first prize for painting at the Salon d'Automne. In 2012, she exhibited at the Salon d'Automne, won the Marin painting prize, and exhibited at the Salon Comparaison on Jörg Hermle's expressionist stand. “During years of solitude, I lived with my passions, my anxieties, my silence and my art. Today in Paris, I dare say that I grew up with painting. In all my work, there is a trace of all these years. The imprint that each memory leaves is palpable. Likewise, silence is prominent in my work. It's all I have in my life. This silence was profound when the plane took off from the land of my country. There I felt the tear. I realized what I sacrificed to accomplish my mission. I gave everything I had to have this silence, to hear new voices. And today my silence is great, deep and patient, full of new resonances. And each time I move forward, I hear new voices that enrich my painting, and to which are now added the strong resonances of the voice of my native land: the voice of my childhood home, of my family, of my people and my country. All of this is unique to me, all of this is my universe and reflects my person not another. […] In my self-portraits, I do not try to make a simple presence, of myself alone or among people. Each gesture and each look of my characters count to convey my perceptions of the world through the prism of my vision. "
