Amos Yaskil - painter, planner, researcher and builder of historical museums - was born in Haifa in 1935. He began painting at the age of 10 in a "thoroughly adult style" (Stefan Zweig).
Since 1960, the artist has lived in Tiberias, Galilee, and gained international recognition with numerous exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout the world. Between 1982 and 1996, he built and designed 12 historical museums.
So far, about 100 solo exhibitions of his works have taken place - from 1990 mainly in Germany, Switzerland, France, Belgium and Holland. His motifs are mainly landscapes of Galilee and Israel, whereas he also explores the painting of the 16th and 17th centuries. In 1992, a retrospective book of his works was published in Germany in four languages: German, English, French and Hebrew.
