Gianfranco Frezzolini (1929-1994 Italy)

Florence, 1929-1994. Coming from a family of known artists played a big role in his training. From his grandfather Plinio Nomellini and his uncles Vittorio Nomellini and Massimo Campigli he received the technical teachings and the orientation to follow the Tuscan lesson of landscape and figure.

From an early age, he frequented Florentine and Tuscan artistic circles and was particularly close to Ottone Rosai. In his career, he has always remained faithful to tradition, however developing a completely personal and recognizable language, which has allowed him to be appreciated for his great qualities as a refined landscape painter, interpreter of a poetics linked to the Tuscan countryside.

During his life he organized many personal exhibitions in Tuscany and in many Italian places, but also abroad, notably in various cities of the United States, France, Switzerland and Denmark. He has participated by invitation in national and international reviews, obtaining prizes and distinctions. Among others, he has been awarded by the Chamber of Commerce of Arezzo, the Renaissance Committee of Oltrarno (Florence), the Chamber of Commerce of Foggia. The consensus of critics was very broad. His works are in public and private collections in Italy and abroad.
