Sabrina Tortorella

Sabrina Tortorella is an Italian painter whose work centers on intimate, close-up portraits of young women. Through their gaze, her subjects draw the viewer into a deeply personal dimension, where emotions, fragility, and the quiet strength of adolescence unfold. The eyes become a powerful point of connection—revealing inner stories of growth, identity, and self-discovery.

Working exclusively in oil on canvas, Tortorella adopts a refined realist technique enriched by a vibrant and expressive use of colour. Her intense palettes amplify the emotional resonance of each piece, while her works are developed within thematic series that follow cohesive and carefully constructed narratives.

Her artistic path follows an earlier career dedicated to epoxy resin and theatrical set design, experiences that continue to inform her visual sensitivity and compositional approach. She later launched her painting practice with the project , a multi-edition series marking the evolution of her artistic research.

Tortorella has exhibited internationally in London, Paris, and Barcelona, and has received recognition from the Salerno Biennale, as well as awards in figurative painting and a special mention from the Milan Biennale. Based in Florence, she continues to develop her work through an ongoing exploration of emotional depth and contemporary portraiture.
