Biography

ALDO FORTUNATI (1908 - ): Aldo Fortunati was an Italian painter known for traditional representational paintings of rural life, village scenes, figures, and landscapes. Born in Italy in 1908, he worked primarily in oil on canvas and is documented in the international art market through a small but established body of signed paintings. His subjects include everyday rural activities, village life, nighttime scenes, and individual figures, as seen in works such as *Village Scene with Children Shucking Corn*, *At Night*, and *The Water Carrier*. Fortunati's paintings are characterized by a naturalistic approach to composition and a strong interest in portraying ordinary people and countryside settings. His works have appeared at auction in both Europe and the United States, where they continue to be offered to collectors of twentieth-century Italian painting.
