Maria Paola Coda

Maria Paola Coda (Italy, 1981) is a contemporary artist based in Spain since 2006 and trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. Her work focuses on abstract and material painting, exploring the relationship between light, color, and organic processes. Since 2004, she has exhibited internationally in galleries and art fairs across the United Kingdom, the United States, The Netherlands, France, Germany, and Turkey, and her paintings are held in private collections worldwide.

Inspired by nature and its shifting atmospheres, Coda creates layered, textured surfaces that evoke the boundary between the visible and the invisible. Her process is slow and meditative, and each artwork embodies a unique emotional state. The titles of her works, always prime numbers, extend this poetic inquiry. Chosen for their singularity and indivisible nature, these numbers exist in solitude within the mathematical order. Each number, like each painting, embodies a unique and unrepeatable emotional state—a resonance that cannot be reproduced. Her paintings invite an intimate and contemplative experience, where matter seems to breathe and light becomes an inner language.
