Biography
Antonio Murgia was born in 1956 in Sardinia, Italy. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Milan but he quit his studies before graduating. He worked for an Italian TV channel, for some time, and directed the realization of a few films in the late 80s. Musician and painter for over 25 years, he currently lives and works between northern Italy and Sardinia.
During the last ten years, Antonio Murgia has been creating large portraits that come straight out of his imagination. Combined with the use of bright colors and large-format canvases, he succeeds in creating a visual shock, which does not leave anyone indifferent.
Whereas previously his favorite themes were Wall Disney's characters, Antonio Murgia comes back with a more realistic repertoire. However, he retains the desire to bring the viewer to a world outside of reality.
