Issai Tanaka

Born in 1977, Issai Tanaka graduated with a degree in Chinese literature from Daito Bunka University. A highly talented calligrapher, he has received numerous awards at the prestigious Yomiuri Shoho exhibition, one of Japan's most renowned calligraphy competitions. He has a masterful command of classical styles, from large-scale, dynamic works to creations with delicate lines. Combining an exceptional aesthetic sense with expressive creativity, his works are characterized by vibrant strokes and an elegant balance of negative space. The artist has also created abstract works, notably those displayed in the Toyota Crown showroom and at the Haneda Excel Hotel in Tokyo, Japan.
