Calligrapher Mami

Mami is a traditional and modern Japanese calligrapher. She discovered Graffiti at the same time as hip-hop music and then incorporated graffiti into her calligraphy. She coined the term "Calligra2ity", mixing urban culture and traditional calligraphy, Calligraphy and Graffiti. The number "2" reads "fu" in old Japanese, we counted "Hi, fu, mi, yo ...". Through this word "Calligra2ity", she creates a new form of modern calligraphy to represent our time which combines two different cultures. She also works in fashion with brands like Fendi, Adidas, X-Girls, etc. She also worked for the scenography of concert halls and department stores in Tokyo.
