Walid Raad, was born in Lebanon in 1967. Emigrated in 1983 to the United States, he followed training in visual and cultural photography and art. In 1989 he launched a project entitled “The Atlas Group”, the objectives and achievements of which were defined in brief texts highlighting the exhibitions, catalogs and the plastic surgeon's website. The artist is also a member of the AIF (Arab Image Foundation), an institution located in Beirut since 1997 whose goal is to collect and promote a visual heritage from the Middle East, North Africa and the diaspora. Arab. Walid Raad, internationally renowned artist, he teaches at "The Cooper Union" art school in New York where he currently lives.
