I explore self-identity, solitude, and vulnerability through symbolic portraiture. Inspired by memory, childhood, and nature, my art reflects the inner search for meaning and emotional resonance.

Biography

Alyona Masterkova is an artist whose work explores themes of identity, memory, and emotional introspection. She creates symbolic portraits using mixed media painting and drawing techniques, often incorporating textured surfaces and stencils. These materials allow her to express the passage of time and the traces it leaves behind.

Masterkova's art reflects on solitude, childhood impressions, and the search for personal meaning. Gardens frequently appear in her compositions, serving as metaphors for inner refuge and spiritual cultivation. Through her delicate use of symbolism, she evokes the invisible emotional landscapes that shape individual experience.

Trained in monumental painting with a background in mosaics, Masterkova brings a sense of structure and depth to her practice while maintaining a poetic sensitivity to the human condition.

In 2000, Alyona Masterkova graduated from St. Tikhon's Orthodox University with a degree in Monumental Painting, specializing in mosaics.
In 2023, she participated in the Contemporary Art program at the HSE School of Design.
Among her numerous group exhibitions, notable highlights include "Fullness" (an exhibition by the art association "Iskrennie") at the Tushino Gallery of the Moscow Exhibition Halls Association, and "Immersion" at the GLUBINA Gallery of Contemporary Art.
In 2022, Alyona Masterkova was awarded 1st place in the "World of Art" exhibition-competition at the New Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.
Currently, she is working on the "Fluctuations" series of portraits, exploring themes of childhood memories and coming-of-age.
