Description
Blue Lilac Botanical Female Portrait Contemporary Oil & Pencil Artwork on Paper.
“Forest Melody 1" is a contemplative contemporary artwork created in oil and pencil on paper, merging figurative presence with botanical abstraction. A female face softly emerges through layered fern silhouettes, dissolving the boundary between human identity and nature. The cool palette of muted blues, pale lavender, misty gray, and soft indigo creates a tranquil atmosphere reminiscent of twilight forest light and early morning fog.
The delicate transparency of overlapping foliage allows the portrait to feel both revealed and hidden — a metaphor for inner silence and emotional depth. Fine pencil detailing enhances the ethereal quality of the composition, while subtle oil textures add dimension and softness.
This artwork is ideal for modern interiors seeking serenity and poetic nuance. It fits beautifully in minimalist spaces, bedrooms, reading rooms, or contemporary gallery walls. A refined and meaningful gift for collectors, art lovers, and anyone drawn to nature-inspired contemplative pieces. Its quiet elegance makes it a sophisticated decorative statement.
Presentation
Alyona Masterkova is an artist whose work explores themes of identity, memory, and emotional introspection. She creates symbolic portraits using mixed media painting and drawing techniques, often incorporating textured surfaces and stencils. These materials allow her to express the passage of time and the traces it leaves behind.
Masterkova's art reflects on solitude, childhood impressions, and the search for personal meaning. Gardens frequently appear in her compositions, serving as metaphors for inner refuge and spiritual cultivation. Through her delicate use of symbolism, she evokes the invisible emotional landscapes that shape individual experience.
Trained in monumental painting with a background in mosaics, Masterkova brings a sense of structure and depth to her practice while maintaining a poetic sensitivity to the human condition.
In 2000, Alyona Masterkova graduated from St. Tikhon's Orthodox University with a degree in Monumental Painting, specializing in mosaics.
In 2023, she participated in the Contemporary Art program at the HSE School of Design.
Among her numerous group exhibitions, notable highlights include "Fullness" (an exhibition by the art association "Iskrennie") at the Tushino Gallery of the Moscow Exhibition Halls Association, and "Immersion" at the GLUBINA Gallery of Contemporary Art.
In 2022, Alyona Masterkova was awarded 1st place in the "World of Art" exhibition-competition at the New Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.
Currently, she is working on the "Fluctuations" series of portraits, exploring themes of childhood memories and coming-of-age.
