Vincent Michéa is an artist born in Figeac, France in 1963. He lives and works between Paris and Dakar. His work has been widely exhibited in Europe and Africa, including at the iconic Saatchi Gallery. Having graduated from ESAG Art School in Paris, he went to Dakar to work as a graphic designer.

From 1987, he exhibited paintings and photos at the National Gallery of Art in Senegal. After this exhibition, he worked as an assistant to the renowned graphic designer Roman Cieslewicz. With the support of the latter, he created an abundance of paintings. Vincent Michéa also co-founded the 100% Dakar label and collaborated with the DKR studio in the 90s. In 2007, he began running photomontage workshops at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa. A year later, he directed the screen printing workshop at the School of Visual Arts in Marrakesh with the painter Moulay Youssel Elkahfai.

He is represented by several international galleries and a range of prestigious institutions have exhibited his work, including the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the Agnès b. collection at the National Museum of Immigration History, the Kunsthal Museum in Rotterdam (Netherlands), Barcelona's Centre de Cultura Contemporània and the Blachère Foundation in Apt.
