Born in 1964, Jana Dolenc is a Slovenian painter. Originally from Ljubljana, she joined the Academy of Arts over there and did a course in painting. She obtained her diploma, she put down roots as an independent artist, and then began teaching visual arts. In 1993, she moved to Netherlands and stayed there for around ten years, before moving back to Slovenia.
Her paintings flirt around with boundaries between abstract and figurative art. She has various sources of inspiration, such as nature and music.
While working as a painter, Jana Dolenc does decorative arts and illustration. Her works have been exhibited in galleries around Slovenia, Netherlands and Belgium.
