Kim Kwang Hyun

Kwang Hyun Kim is a Korean artist who was born in 1982 in South Korea and currently resides in Busan.

His paintings focus on the feelings of loneliness, contemplation and passion. His detailed acrylic on canvas pieces feature intriguing characters with odd facial expressions. His style is deeply inspired by his father's work as a cartoonist, as well as traditional Buddhist art.

Kim's figures are depicted in a state of introspection, as if in a trance, suggesting moments of self-reflection which can be experienced by anyone who looks at his work. Through his art, he brings to light the beauty and sometimes pain found within human nature.
