Gloria Feijóo

Gloria Feijóo is a contemporary Spanish painter born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Canary Islands) and based in Seville, Andalusia, where she lives and works. Self-taught, she develops a practice centered on abstract painting, gestural expression, and the emotional power of color. Her artistic universe is based on the idea that color is a universal language capable of conveying positive emotions and creating a direct dialogue with the viewer. According to the artist, each of her works seeks to transform sadness into joy, weakness into strength, and decadence into energy, making painting a true vector of vitality and optimism.

Her personal journey, marked by several years spent in Italy and then New York, deeply nourishes her artistic sensibility. In contact with galleries, artists, and the international urban scene, Gloria Feijóo enriches her plastic language before dedicating herself fully to creation. Although she practiced as a lawyer, it is painting that ultimately establishes itself as her preferred means of expression. Her work is distinguished by a constant search around the material, the gesture, spontaneity, and chromatic power.

Gloria Feijóo works mainly with acrylic and spray paint, frequently using fluorescent, neon colors, and vibrant contrasts. Her aesthetic is part of an energetic contemporary abstraction where free movements, texture superimpositions, and a luminous palette in which pink occupies a recurring place dominate. Inspired by nature, the sea, the sun, flowers, wind, and music, she seeks to transcribe onto the canvas a sensation of freedom and communicative energy. Her intuitive approach favors immediate emotion and the constant experimentation of new materials, chromatic combinations, and pictorial processes.

In 2024, Gloria Feijóo presents two solo exhibitions in Seville, at the Sala Patricio and the Palais de la Buhaira. That same year, she is also in charge of decorating several spaces at the Marriott Hotel Sevilla. Her international development is accelerating through representation by galleries in China and the United Arab Emirates, and then, starting in December 2024, with her collaboration with the Tobian Art Gallery in Florence. Her works are now featured in many private international collections, testifying to a growing interest in her work on the contemporary art scene.

Through her abstract language, her expressive use of color, and her desire to evoke positive emotions, Gloria Feijóo is progressively establishing herself as an emerging artist in Spanish contemporary abstract painting, developing a body of work where energy, emotion, color, abstraction, acrylic, spray, contemporary art, and intuitive expression constitute the foundations of her artistic approach.
