Walid Ardhaoui was born in 1978 in Kairouan, Tunisia. Graduated in interior architecture in 2006 (Institut Supérieur des Beaux-Arts de Tunis), then in English in 2008 (Dublin School of English), he exhibited his works in 1994. Living in Tunisia since 2014, he participated in numerous events artistic works including “Al Maken” in Sidi Bou Said, and a group exhibition at EL Teatro. In the meantime, he works and exhibits in Dublin, Dubai and Abha (Saudi Arabia). His first personal exhibition "Al Mahjouz" at EL Teatro in April 2016, offers realistic figures bathed in a consumerist daily life painted in oil on reclaimed wood and cement. In 2017, he participated with a solo exhibition “Barzakh”, isthmus, at the Aicha Gorgi gallery, as part of Evénement Jaou 2017, organized by the Lazaar Foundation with the theme “The migrant nation”. Through his paintings, he traces the sad journey of certain young people, whose dreams begin with a smile and a bright future, and end with disappointment and bitterness. One of these works is currently part of the Kamel Lazaar Foundation collection.
