Işık Değer is a contemporary visual artist and designer.

Her artistic practice moves between painting, collage, drawing, and digital image-making, often combining figurative and abstract approaches. Recurring themes include loneliness, emptiness, alienation, dissociation, derealization, memory, self-identification, and the darker or less comfortable aspects of human experience.

Her background in industrial design shapes her artistic practice, particularly through its emphasis on systems thinking, structure, and the careful consideration of individual decisions. Rather than abandoning this analytical approach in her transition to fine art, she carries it with her as a framework for examining and reconstructing her own experiences.

For her, art becomes a way of looking closely, forming connections, and constructing new ways of understanding both the self and the world.
