Aylin Yavuz , born in 1983, she studied art at universities of Siegen, Düsseldorf, Dortmund and Istanbul.
Since 2005, she has been making contributions to the arts with graphics, installations and paintings. Besides art she is also giving lectures and conducting workshops at universities, museums and schools. She lives and works between Düsseldorf and Istanbul.
In her drawings and paintings, Aylin Yavuz incorporates aspects of the present, filtered through a postmodern and aesthetic approach, which leaves room for the viewer's own imagination. The artist lends her paintings a certain irony and a touch of humor. She accomplishes this through the selection of positions, associations, and the exaggeration of the symbolism of various objects in addition by contrasting color spaces.
Deconstruction and composition, addition and simultaneousness, combination and allusion are her artistic methods. Her colours appear in layers based on the idea that everything is connected thus function in the end as a signpost within the body of work. Shying away from any striking and dramatic effects Aylin Yavuz tends to capture the viewer's calm and contemplative yet light-hearted spirit.
Aylin Yavuz eliminates the standard concept of beauty and offers through her art a different perception, beyond the criteria of conventional aesthetics.
