Ukrainian painter Oleksii Aleksandrov, a refugee in France since the beginning of the war, defines himself as "an artist without a nation, without a style, without a school." Far from his family and familiar surroundings, he resolutely pursues a pictorial approach he considers his raison d'être. His work, marked by rupture and exile, conveys a vision of a world in ruins without ever seeking to seduce: he confronts, reveals, and accuses.

Oleksii Aleksandrov's work is constructed through the juxtaposition of brushstrokes, forming veritable mosaic canvases, devoid of frames and punctuated by ruptures. This deliberate fragmentation gives rise to a singular expressive force: an intense, chaotic, and sincere beauty, at once violent and mystical.

His influences draw from:

It follows in the tradition of Otto Dix and Käthe Kollwitz: a painting of testimony and accusation, which rejects complacent aesthetics to reveal the raw truth.
