Presentation

Paul Indrek Kostab is an American artist, musician, music producer and sound engineer. He was born in Whittier, California. He is Mark Kostabi's brother, the artist.

Kostabi was one of the founding members of the band Youth Gone Mad, White Zombie and Psychotica. Kostabi currently performs with Tony Esposito with the groupe Kostabeats and Walter Schreifels, Dead Heavens.

His works are mostly known to be psychedelic, intense, with bright faces on canvases sparkling with colors. His abstractions are like the ones by Julian Schnabel, Jean- Michel Basquiat or Giles Lyon.

Paul Kostabi is known to be laid back: he is happy to paint on a quality canvas, in a museum or simply on a piece of cardboard found in the dumpsters. His spirit guides him along and this can be felt by looking at his work: one can feel the effort through every brush stroke. His paintings are like a sudden explosion of colors, which are quite like Jackson Pollock's paintings.

Kostabi collaborated with Dee Dee Ramone for several paintings and illustrated the cover of Chelsea Horror Hotel, written by Dee Dee Ramone. In 2012, he launched his brand: Bad Things, His works are sold on different devices, like iPhones.
