Liora is a painter and was born in 1965 in Paris, she lives and works in London. She grew up in Reuilly in the 12th arrondissement, known for its artisan feel, and was introduced to the world of art from a young age.
Her first years as an artist gave her the required sensitivity and understanding to practice her art. Splitting her time between London and Nice, her life is a source of inspiration and motivation as part of her artistic process.
The colour black is omnipresent in her abstract work. Liora also uses grey, red and blue along with black to confront life and death, light and dark. Her works are far from plain or neutral: she also produces silver paintings and golden canvases. Yet, they always maintain a balance which profoundly affects the observer and his or her emotional state, allowing him or her to take shelter and to be comforted. She creates a variety of textures by using a range of techniques. Vertical lines and circular marks sometimes evoke natural elements : trees and stamens, for example.
