Biography
Robin Kang is an American artist, based in Brooklyn. She received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2012.
Weaving for the past ten years, Kang's works are the product of her interest in the intersection between the historical textile industry and contemporary technological developments - her tapestries are hand-woven using a computer-programmed Jacquard hand loom.
Exhibitions of Kang's textiles have taken place internationally, most recently in Berlin, Brussels, New York and Mexico City. In 2019, Kang collaborated with the Centro de Textiles Tradicionales del Cusco in Peru to produce a handwoven and naturally-dyed clothing line.
