Joseph Yaeger is an American artist renowned for his contemporary painting, figurative compositions , and exploration of the image in the digital age. Born in the United States, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago before pursuing a Master of Fine Arts at the Yale School of Art, a prestigious education that profoundly influenced his practice. His work explores the circulation of images, visual memory, and the relationship between vernacular photography, popular culture, and the history of painting.
Joseph Yaeger has developed a unique technique of painting from images found online, particularly on social media and Google Street View.
