Sonic (Jesse Rodriguez)

Jesse Rodriguez aka "Sonic" was born in 1961, he grew up in New York. He lives and works in Bronx.

During the 70's in New York, the world of graffiti was rapidly expanding, while the street artists often portrayed letters, Sonic brought along a new vision and a new way of doing graffiti. Besides from his bright colors, the letters were accompanied with human figures.

His unique style is today one of the most famous in the city, his art is a result of creative work and a constant innovative research. Due to his capturing ability through photos, his art which was earlier short-lived, now gets long lasting recognition.

Sonic's art work isn't just set on the street but is now part of the fashion world or the video games industry. In addition to the galleries, they are also displayed in different parts of the world like Amsterdam Singapore Germany, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Belgium, France and New York.
