300K, 100 OBVERSE RIGHT "WATERMELON NOTE". From the series Currency. Chinese ink on Fabriano paper 250 g. Tinted Popped wood Frame

As a reflection on the value we give to objects, this series exposes examples of objects that we use daily and for different reasons ended up gaining very high prices. By redrawing them the idea is to generate a conversation about what we consider valuable to ourselves, and how thats a very relative concept.

This artwork features an intricately designed banknote fragment, seamlessly blending historical and artistic elements. The composition is dominated by ornate patterns and calligraphic scripts, characteristic of classic currency design. Hues of green and red interlace, enhancing the vintage aesthetic while drawing attention to finely detailed flourishes and scrolls. The inclusion of the year "1891" adds a sense of historical depth and intrigue, inviting viewers to ponder its provenance. The word "Bearer" is prominently scripted, suggesting themes of value and exchange. Framed in a simple wooden border, the piece is isolated against a dark green mat, which accentuates its antique charm and directs focus to its detailed artwork. This artistic depiction transcends traditional currency, transforming a mundane object into a captivating exploration of history and design.
