Description
This work captures a timeless moment, full of sweetness and nostalgia, between a little girl and her grandfather. Through intersecting lines and a complex background, the artist transports us to an urban or symbolic space, where modern life and memories intertwine. The decor, abstract and architectural, seems to symbolize the movement and tumult of everyday life, while the two characters at the center of the canvas give off a feeling of calm and intimacy.
The little girl, full of candor, looks to the future with innocence, while the grandfather, with his pensive gaze, seems immersed in memories, evoking intergenerational transmission and the wisdom acquired over time. The contrast between the dynamic lines of the background and the simplicity of their faces reflects the complexity of life that surrounds these moments of family connection.
The touches of bright colors added to certain elements of the scene bring warmth and hope, emphasizing the importance of these human connections in a world in perpetual motion. It is a scene both universal and personal, where each person can find a part of their own story, a moment shared with a loved one.
Presentation
Born in 1979, Muriel Deumié is a Toulouse-based painter whose work develops between urban abstraction, contemporary writing, and a conceptual approach. Her practice is instinctive and free, guided by gesture, material, and emotion, without pre-established composition, allowing the canvas to direct the creative process.
She works with multiple media: acrylic, ink, spray paint, oil, collage, and digital art, which she combines according to her intuition. Refusing to confine herself to a single aesthetic, she explores several forms of expression, where idea, gesture, and material interact in each series.
Her works, held in private collections in France and internationally, bear witness to a passionate and constantly evolving approach, where creative freedom takes precedence over any attempt at classification. Through her work, Muriel Deumié asserts a personal, intuitive, and engaged style of painting within contemporary art.
