This watercolour, imbued with lightness and poetry, depicts an autumnal landscape with an undeniable mastery of nuances and textures. In the foreground, an ancient tree, with a sinuous trunk and sprawling branches, stands out as the protagonist of the composition. Its leaves, subtly evoked by touches of yellow, ochre and brown, seem to be prey to a gentle ballet orchestrated by the wind. The background reveals an indistinct forest, finely sketched by bluish and grey lines, creating a feeling of depth and mystery. The choice of colours, sometimes bright, sometimes evanescent, gives this work an atmosphere that is both serene and melancholic, plunging the viewer into a suspended moment where autumn reveals its ephemeral splendour. The technique used, marked by delicate washes and transparent overlays, accentuates the fluidity of the landscape, inviting contemplation. The artist has captured the fleeting nature of the season, paying tribute to the changing beauty of nature. In short, this work is a true testimony to the encounter between technical mastery and artistic sensitivity, inciting a contemplative and emotional immersion.
