Description
This captivating work is a surrealist painting depicting a chimerical creature. Featuring an animal-like body with powerful legs and a striped tail, it integrates human and fantastical elements. The expressive and detailed female head emerges from the right side, contrasting with the animal forms. The varied textures, from the soft human face to the scaly patterns, create a sense of unsettling hybridity. The colors, primarily shades of beige, red, and gray, emphasize the fluid transitions between the different parts. The artist successfully blends these disparate components harmoniously, prompting the viewer to question coexistence and identity. The neutral background accentuates the creature's singularity, placing it at the center of attention. It is a bold exploration of nature and the imagination, challenging the boundaries of perception.
Presentation
My research focuses on the processes of hybridization, exposure and decortication of human and animal anatomy. Chimeras are recurrent, but also the female figure whose body becomes a field of anatomical experiments. Starting from a personal mythology, I try, through these unstructured or rearranged characters, to retrace these impressions which are at the origin of the necessity of my work.
